Four ball tester- Pneumatic Loading


The Four Ball Tester, designed and developed by Magnum Engineers, is a precision tribological test system conforming to ASTM and IP standards for comprehensive evaluation of the frictional, wear preventive (WP), and extreme pressure (EP) characteristics of lubricating oils and greases. The instrument operates on the well established four-ball test methodology, wherein one rotating hardened steel ball of 12.7 mm diameter is brought into contact with three stationary balls, all immersed in the lubricant under test. During the test, a controlled axial normal load is applied through an advanced servo-pneumatic closed-loop loading system, while the upper ball is driven at a predefined rotational speed.
